Hi, I’m Lindsay Wright.
I believe that you have an innate capacity to heal, to thrive and create the life and relationships that you desire. While I provide behavioral health expertise, I respect that you are the expert on your own lived experience; together, we can work collaboratively to create growth and change within yourself and your relationships. I aim to create a warm, confidential, and supportive environment to allow you to share vulnerable emotions & experiences, while also feeling secure. I believe that therapy is both an art and a science, and I approach sessions with warmth, curiosity, humility, authenticity, empathy and humor. I’m glad you’re here.
I am a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the EMDR International Association, and abide by the Colorado State Marriage & Family Therapist Examiners Rules and Regulations.
My Education & Experience
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, and received a Masters of Arts in Marriage, Couples & Family Therapy from Lewis & Clark College in 2013. I began my career working with children, teens and their families at The Children’s Center in Vancouver, WA, and quickly discovered my passion for working with those who had experienced trauma. During this time, I pursued additional training in trauma-specific treatment modalities, and began my training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy in 2015. In 2017, I moved to Telluride, and in 2018 I began working within Primary Care at the Telluride Medical Center, which assisted me in gaining greater understanding of the impact of physical health concerns on emotional & behavioral health, and grew my appreciation for the Telluride community and the unique issues that exist within small mountain communities. In 2022, a colleague and I identified that there was a lack of grief support within the community, and created Gather & Grieve, a grief-focused support group, and in 2024 we launched an annual grief retreat, Gather & Grieve in Nature, in collaboration with the High Camp Hut and Tri-County Health Network.
I firmly believe that as a therapist and as a human, I will never stop growing, and that there is always more to learn. Over the course of my career, I have chosen to deepen my therapeutic abilities by completing many additional therapy trainings.
These trainings include, but are not limited to:
A yearlong Eating Disorders Certificate via Lewis & Clark College to assist clients in improving their relationships with their bodies & food
Becoming a Compassionate Bereavement Care Provider via the MISS Institute to strengthen my ability to support clients living with grief
Multiple trainings via The Gottman Institute to provide evidence-based support to help couples to build healthy & strong relationships
Becoming a Collaborative Assessment & Management of Suicidality (CAMS) Trained Provider to assist my clients in maintaining safety
Completing 70 hours of clinical supervision training to support the development of new therapy clinicians
Engaging in many advanced EMDR trainings, becoming a member of the Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA) and becoming an EMDRIA Certified Therapist to better support clients who have experienced trauma
Becoming trained in Mentalization-Based Narrative Exposure Therapy to provide an alternate treatment for clients who have experienced instances of complex interpersonal trauma
“If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive.”
