• EMDR Intensives provide a unique option for trauma therapy to be conducted in a condensed format. Rather than scheduling weekly sessions for an hour each week, an EMDR Intensive provides multiple hours of EMDR therapy each day, for multiple days. My EMDR Intensives take place across 1-3 days, with two blocks of 3 hour sessions per day.

  • I offer EMDR Intensives to adults who have experienced a single incident trauma or ongoing traumatic stress. EMDR Intensives can be a good fit for those who have experienced a recent traumatic experience. EMDR Intensives may be an appropriate fit for those who are not full-time Telluride residents who would like to focus on healing during their time in Telluride.

  • Yes! EMDR therapy itself is an evidence-based practice, multiple studies have been conducted on the effectiveness of intensive therapy sessions, and there is a growing body of research for the specific implementation of EMDR Intensives. Current research points to EMDR Intensives leading to faster symptom reduction, with similar outcomes to weekly therapy (but in a briefer period of time.

  • To start, I will provide a free consultation to gauge whether an EMDR Intensive would be an appropriate part of your treatment; EMDR Intensives are not appropriate for all concerns, and I am not the best fit for every client. If we agree to work together, we will work together for 1-3 days to address a single presenting concern; while there may be other issues or concerns in your life, our focus will be to target our identified concern. During the days we work today, we will work for 3 hours in the morning, with a break for lunch and movement in between, and return to work for 3 hours in the afternoon. Following your EMDR Intensive, it is recommended that you have time to engage in appropriate self-care, and that you do not schedule social or work obligations following an EMDR Intensive session. I encourage you to think of your time spent in an EMDR Intensive as a wellness retreat, and to plan accordingly.
